At Yellow Parachute’s Quantum Jump, we have created a special roadmap just for you.
This roadmap is all about protecting your wellness, developing awareness of and practicing executive function skills, setting personal goals, and building habits that will not only help you become successful and efficient but also bring fulfillment to your every day life. Don’t let the boring name fool you – you’re about to transform your life.
We invite you to join us in the course Parent/Kid Roadmap to School + Homework Success.
You will find 4 steps in this course, meant to be visited in partnership as parent and kid. They will take you approximately sixty to ninety minutes to complete, depending on how deeply you discuss each activity (or how much resistance you get), What you learn will change the way you think about your life, the goals you set, the way you plan, and – hopefully – the way you relate as parent and kid when it comes to school and homework.
Let’s take a minute to sample the four steps together…
Step 1: Eliminate the Roadblock of Conflict
Conflict arises when misalignment occurs: children, in their quest to establish their unique identities, may show disinterest or impatience towards their parents’ ideas. Parents, interpreting these actions as indifference towards school, fail to see that their kids are actually saying, “Give me some space to figure things out on my own.” Kids are busy forging their own paths, seeking a purpose that resonates with them. However, it all becomes tangled when we ask that seemingly simple question: “Do you have any homework?”

Your Vision, Goals + Why
It’s an opportunity to paint a vivid picture of what you aspire to achieve together, encompassing the goals, and aspirations that are close to your hearts. But we’re not stopping there. Once your vision is crafted and brimming with inspiration, it’s time to take the next step and transform it into actionable goals.
These goals will serve as the guiding light, leading both you and your child towards a path of growth, success, and fulfillment. By breaking down your vision into tangible, measurable objectives, you’ll have a roadmap to follow, ensuring that you are constantly progressing towards your desired destination.
Now, let’s talk about the WHY. Behind every goal lies a deeper purpose and motivation – a compelling reason that fuels your determination and keeps you going, even when faced with challenges along the way. By delving into the reasons behind your goals, you and your child will gain a profound understanding of the driving forces behind your aspirations. This deeper level of understanding will not only keep you motivated but also enable you to make decisions and take actions that align with your true desires.
And here’s the best part: by engaging in this process together, you and your child will create a common language for success. You’ll develop a shared understanding and appreciation for each other’s ambitions, dreams, and goals. This mutual support and encouragement will strengthen your bond and serve as a powerful source of motivation on your journey towards achieving your aspirations. So, are you ready to step into this world of limitless possibilities?
Step 3: Pre Week Planning
Step 4: Plan to Navigate Bumps in the Road
Think about it. Life is full of surprises, whether it’s the weather, sports performance, moods, learning, homework, test scores, or even those unpredictable curveballs thrown by baseball pitchers. But here’s the secret: approaching your kids’ school and homework routine with a prepared mindset will unleash your creativity when problem-solving is needed.
By envisioning the future and thinking ahead, you’ll have the energy reserves to manage your expectations and find solutions. It’s all about embracing challenges as opportunities for growth and learning. And that’s how parents can empower their kids to achieve even greater success than they did themselves.
So, face those unexpected twists and turns head-on and show your children that obstacles are merely stepping stones to something greater. Together, you can conquer any challenge that comes your way and pave the way for a future filled with achievement and resilience. And today is the day to start!
