We spend a great deal of time telling you the how and why or our teaching, what inspires us, and how we hope to inspire our students. Now, we’d like to take a few minutes to talk about the range of services that Yellow Parachute Learning Partners provides. When our families know more about what we do, we can better serve you and other families who are looking for help! WIN! So here’s a peek.
Of course, we can also help you with any learning need not listed here and, if we can’t, we’ll find someone who can. But here’s a breakdown of the services in which we specialize apart from single-subject tutoring and supplemental teaching:
Students report that Yellow Parachute’s Test Prep Curriculum helps prepare them beyond the ACT; they have become better overall test takers and strategic thinkers.
When the ACT process is finished, the biggest compliment we can get is a student saying, “What else can we do together? Do you tutor in math, too?” (We do!). We offer different tiers of service to meet a variety of budgets while maintaining our quality of delivery and communication.
Specialized Reading Intervention
Research shows that early intervention is the best way to help tackle reading learning disabilities. Regardless of your place in the journey of discovering your child’s reading needs, an experienced Yellow Parachute Reading specialist will guide you through the process of next steps to best meet them. Our team of reading specialists is versed in an array of reading intervention techniques and will create a comprehensive plan that best suits your reader.
Executive Function Skills
Yellow Parachute’s proprietary Student Operating System curriculum, or SOS, combines education and social research, business practice, psychology, and over 20 years of experience working with students ages 4 through 18, to create a whole-student approach to success in planning, prioritizing, problem-solving, and meeting goals. The program may be taught as a general study-skills and work-habits building class for a group or used as an intervention course for individuals or small groups.
Maybe your family has worked with YP since middle school, and we have a great partnership. Or maybe we’re just starting out together and you and your kiddo feel swamped in all those college-bound decisions: where to apply, whether to visit, how to take your best shot at your dream school. Don’t fear: we’ve added a team of Learning Coaches who can help with the college search process, from discovering your unique strengths and interests to creating a college list and writing your application essay. The process can be daunting with so many pieces to fit together, but we’ve got you taken care of.
Establishing Tutoring Programming at Schools
Schools work ultra hard to serve the unique needs of their learners. As much as they’re able to meet these needs, the high student-to-teacher ratio becomes an obstacle when creating personalized learning and accountability for each scholar’s needs. Yellow Parachute jumps in to consult with schools to increase their bandwidth by allocating training and resources where the greatest needs lie. This can happen in an after or during school setting.
